our dad sadly passed away on the 21/05/2009 he was the kind of person who you could talk to and have a really great laugh with he was always there for us he was married to our mum for 51 years they had just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary they were in Separable and so devoted to each other, they were never apart he wasn`t only her loving husband he was her best friend and soul mate, dad was very well liked by everyone who knew him he was a very happy kind loving gentle giant his death was so sudden and very unexpected you may be out of sight, but you will always be in our hearts and never out of our thoughts rest in peace we will always love and miss you dearly we are so gratefully honoured, to call you our dad
Our mam and dad met in a way you would only probably see in a film It was 1956 a Saturday night, picture this they both were getting ready to go out to St Mathew`s hall our dad The dashing hero at the top of the stairs and mam at the bottom there eyes met but as mam started walking, yes you guessed she fell up stairs only mum could do this, dad came downstairs did the dashing hero bit reached out his hand and picked her up, the rest is history They married in early spring of 1958 at the registry office in Cornwallis street barrow there started a life time of happiness

Taught me to be strong

To teach me right from wrong
You’re the one, who taught me
How to work and how to play
For this I am so grateful
Each and every day
You taught me not to question
Things that were Gods will
I find this very hard to do
‘Cos I wish I was here still
I know that you are proud of me
You always told me so
And I love and am so proud of you
Although I’m sure you know
One day we’ll meet again Dad
I know that this is true
But I’m sorry that God called me home
That we’re not still together we two
